Fiat owned legendary brand, Jeep has finally marked its entry in the Indian market with the launch of the Grand Cherokee premium SUV in the Indian market. Introduced with a starting price of INR 93.64 lakh (ex-showroom), the Jeep brand has always exceeded its reputation as one of the most luxurious SUVs. The SUV bears the Jeep brand legend of capability deriving it as a right-size package along with beautiful interior designs. Showcased at Delhi Auto Expo 2016, the company has finally introduced the premium SUV in the domestic market. Moreover, the company also launched its other popular model - Wrangler unlimited in the market. Bringing it all three products in the Indian market for the first time, all the three products will be retailed through separate Jeep dealerships across the country.
Jeep Grand Cherokee - Exterior
Talking about the exterior front, the Jeep Grand Cherokee premium SUV gets a muscular and sporty design as it is engineered to proffer style and elegance. The front facia of the SUV flaunts the typical six tooth grille which is flanked by slandering automatic headlamps and front bumper. It also gets low beam LED DRLs headlamps, premium fog lamps and LED tail lamps. Grand Cherokee offers best audio experience with option between a 9-speaker system with instrument panel-mounted tweeters, front-door and rear-door full-range speakers and a 19-speaker system with a 10-inch subwoofer and a high-power 506-watt amplifier. The SUV comes with boot capacity of 1025-litres which can be increased further to 1945-litres by folding up the rear seats.

Coming to the powerhouse, the Grand Cherokee SUV is offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engine option. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine whereas the Grand Cherokee SRT gets a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 petrol engine. The former is capable of producing 240bhp of maximum power @ 3600rpm against the peak torque of 570Nm @ 2000rpm while the latter is capable of developing 469bhp of power along with 630Nm of peak torque. The power is transmitted to all the four wheels via 8-speed Paddle-Shift Automatic Transmission. As far as the mileage is concerned, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee is claimed to proffer fuel efficiency of 12.8 kmpl. Moreover, the SUV also gets selectable Eco mode feature which proffers enhanced fuel efficiency by automatically modifying the shift schedule of the automatic transmission and torque converter.
